How to celebrate 200 years of peace?
Implement commemoration services and events for broad appeal.
Included were thanks to our First Nations for contributions their ancestors made, to those that sacrificed their lives during the War, and our military then and now for their ongoing service.
The tag line ‘How will you remember?’ conveys an invitation to learn about the War of 1812 and it’s historical significance to the formation of a new country.
The logo’s background is a banner style; banners were widely used during the era. Purple signifies the valour of those who fought and green signifies Canada’s birth soon after the end of the War.
Feedback from all quarters confirmed that the two years of celebrations were a huge success. Now let's enjoy the next 200 years of peace.
